Sometimes we don’t realize how lucky we are, until a major disaster unfolds like the recent earthquake in Haiti. My heart goes out to my former Haitian client in Miami and her family, as well as all the people of Haiti. Please donate to the Red Cross or any other reputable charity that is on the ground there assisting (there is a complete listing at www.cnn.com/impact of groups providing medical care, food, shelter, and basic needs).

It’s very easy to donate to the Red Cross by cell phone text. Text “Haiti” to 90999, and you can make a $10 donation that will appear on your next phone bill. I did this yesterday, and the process is very easy and streamlined. Last I heard, the Red Cross had raised $8 million through these texts! You can also text other organizations to donate. Please give!
